Dr. Moshman directs research performed by our team of scientists, mathematicians and engineers. To date, we have completed more than two dozen projects and performed more than $1M of advanced research. Our largest projects were funded by ARPA-E and Space Force. Dr. Moshman has served as a research fellow at the Air Force Institute of Technology, focusing on multi-physics modeling of hypersonic flow and optimal flow control techniques. He earned his PhD in Astronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, where his dissertation work produced a methodology for mitigating supersonic blast waves generated during solid grain rocket ignition using optimal water injection, resulting in peer-reviewed publications. He went on to serve as a Research Assistant Professor at NPS, working on hypersonic re-entry trajectory optimization and teaching graduate courses in Space System Dynamics and Satellite Attitude Control to O2 and O3 Naval officers. Subsequently, Dr. Moshman worked in industry where he led the development of award-winning software which is now the government's engineering standard code for setting specifications on satellite radiation hardening. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with his family and recently took an interest in gardening.
