Music

Chord Jambalaya attempts to visualize the patterns between notes that make music sound the way it does. Chords like an octave, fourth and fifth are consonant, i.e. the wave pattern is simple, the periodicity occurs quickly. Chords like a minor second or a minor seventh are dissonant. Their wave pattern is not simple and takes a lot of cycles to repeat itself. Press any two keys and see the simplest wave pattern for the chord. Press up to 5 keys to see three more waves on top. The waves also bounce up and down in relation to their frequency. Any combination of notes eventually bounces in sync for a brief moment if you watch long enough.
